Quality Assurance

“Mastering complexity. Achieving goals.”

Quality Assurance – Specifically for Industrial Piping Systems

Anyone responsible for piping systems knows that in piping construction and operation, any quality or safety deficiency can lead to disasters.

The good news: SmartInQ is your partner if you want to ensure that your company’s piping systems comply with all standards and effectively prevent both failures and accidents.
As an independent quality assurance provider, SmartInQ strengthens your team exactly as needed and brings not only in-depth expertise and decades of experience but also state-of-the-art technology.

Quality and Safety, Wherever Pipelines Go

SmartInQ is your partner throughout the entire lifecycle of your piping systems—from material testing and quality assurance during the construction phase (including welding supervision ) to final acceptance—and later for ongoing inspections and repairs, if necessary.

Comprehensive documentation and detailed interim and final reports ensure that all information is available exactly where it’s needed. Where legally required, SmartInQ conducts inspections in cooperation with TÜV.

Of course, quality assurance costs money. But these costs help save a lot of money down the road.

Everything Remains Intact: Non-Destructive Material Testing

  • SmartInQ performs material testing in accordance with EN ISO 9712 Level III, for which it is trained and certified.
  • For visual inspections (VT) , endoscopes, GoPro technology, and drones are used in addition to the trained eyes of experts.
  • Material surfaces can be inspected for pores, voids, cracks, and much more using dye penetrant testing (PT).
  • SmartInQ uses X-ray images (RT) to inspect welds, shadow images, wall thicknesses, and more for your business.
  • For information on thermographic inspections (TT), see the Thermography section.
  • We use ultrasonic wall thickness measurement (UT) to determine the actual wall thicknesses of your pressure vessels.

Welding supervision in accordance with EN ISO 14731—it is the key to quality assurance!

Proper welding supervision is crucial for ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety requirements. Without clearly defined responsibilities and competent welding supervision, errors can quickly arise, leading to costly rework or even safety-critical situations.

Well-planned: Risk-Based Inspection – RBI

Managing risks intelligently helps optimize inspection and maintenance activities. The so-called “Risk-Based Inspection” is the modern method for this. It bases the planning of such processes on a risk assessment.
At SmartInQ, we specialize in precise calculations and help your business manage risks effectively, as well as plan inspections and maintenance in a realistic and sensible manner.

Inspection Activities

Among other things, SmartInQ specializes in the inspection of pressure equipment and relies on drone inspections for exceptional efficiency and safety. You can find more information on this in the Drone Inspections section.
